How to Search Milk Street Recipes by Ingredient

I missed the beginning of a segment where they were making a soup with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and fresh shrimp and I cannot seem to find it as I do not know the name of the recipe or the segment it was filmed in!!! Is there a way to search for a recipe by its ingredients and if not, could this be a future goal for your site?? I do not always like the recipes on Epicurious but I love that I can put in ingredients I want to use and it will generate recipes that might be made with what I have on hand...

Answered by Lynn Clark

Hi Shary - you can definitely search by ingredient in our search field. For example, if I search for "shrimp" every recipe that calls for shrimp appears in my search. Unfortunately, I cross-checked the results on the website with our internal database and I can't find a recipe for a dish with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms. We do have this recipe for Fregola with Shrimp and Tomatoes and Spiced Shrimp and Tomatoes with Fresh Mint. These both have tomatoes and shrimp, but not mushrooms. Sorry I can't find what you're looking for. Best, Lynn C.

Can You Watch Milk Street on Roku

Question: I know you can watch the TV episodes via the web or on Amazon if you buy them for 1.99. Ever thought of a Roku app where we can enter our name and password and have access via Roku? then It would be much easier to share them with people that come over, to illustrate the greatness of Milk Street. Thanks Cliff

Answered by Lynn Clark

Hi Cliff - Thanks for the suggestion! I will pass this along to the appropriate department. Best, Lynn C.

Does Free Cooking School Access Expire

In the Frequently Asked Questions for the Cooking School, it says "How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like—across any and all devices you own." Is this still true if we enrolled in the course as part of the COVID-19 free promotion? Or if we enrolled for free, will our access be going away on May 1st? I just need to know if I need to make sure I finish the course by then or if I can continue at a more leisurely pace. Thank you!

Answered by April Dodd

Anthony - thanks for checking in. First of all, we've decided to extend the free access to the online classes until at least the end of May, since it looks like most of us will still be spending lots of time at home until then. Once enrolled in a class, whether it was free or paid, you have access forever. So take your time! - April D.

February Live Q&a Video Not Working

Sorry to post this here, but I've tried reaching out via customer service and Twitter, with no reply. The video for the February Q&A is not working. All other videos work just fine, so I'm thinking someone embedded code that prevents everyone but your Vimeo admin from viewing it. https://www.177milkstreet.com/live-qa/christopher-kimball-lynn-clark-feb-2020

Answered by Lynn Clark

Hi Carrie - I just checked in with our digital team and they say the February Q&A should be up and running now. If you are still having issues, please let us know! Thanks, Lynn C.
