Brown Sugar Whipped Cream

Brown sugar and a little sour cream give this topping a more interesting flavor than a basic whipped cream. If you chill the mixer bowl in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or so before use, the cream will whip up more quickly.

Ingredients

    cup cold heavy cream

  • ¼

    cup cold sour cream

  • 2

    tablespoons packed light or dark brown sugar

  • ½

    teaspoon vanilla extract

  • teaspoon table salt

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine all ingredients. Using the whisk attachment, mix on low until frothy and well combined, about 30 seconds. Increase to medium-high and whip until soft peaks form, 1 to 2 minutes. Use right away or cover and refrigerate up to 2 hours.
