I want to like Milk Street, I really do. Maybe it is just me, but your website makes me want to stay away. I just came back looking for appetizer ideas and .... well, is there really no way to search for appetizers?! This seems like a pretty basic search category. Am I missing something?

I'm afraid I have to agree with Robin R. No appetizer category?? This thread is over a year old, and still no Appetizer category. I'm looking for new appetizers for the holidays. I love Milk Street recipes and cooking tips, but I am very disappointed by the lack of connection to your users' needs. Please please develop and publish an Appetizer category for us!

Milk Street recipes don't always fit into typical recipe categories, like appetizers. You can find great ideas for appetizers by searching for these categories: dips, snacks, flatbreads and skewers. Our latest book – "Milk Street Bakes" – contains a lot of savory baked goods that would make great appetizers: (great with a cheese board), (serve in slices), (serve in slices), , , and . A favorite sweet-savory cookie recipe at Milk Street – – is great on a cheese board! While, our web developer continues to work on updating our website, you can give some of these recipes a try. Let us know how they turn out!

I agree about the categories. Surely you could cross-reference these. Serving suggestions in the recipes would also help. These seem to be most of the time.
