Is Milk Street Developing a Mobile App?

Asked Feb 18, 2022 by Tom A.

Do you intend to have a mobile app (iOS specifically)? It would make it much easier to do grocery shopping, and follow the recipes while cooking as opposed to the browser version.

A mobile app would be much appreciated. It is difficult to maneuver through the on-line site.

Please! An app would be great. I love your recipes and default to NY Times cooking often bc their app is so easy to use when I need to find something to cook during the week.

I agree! The website is a nightmare to use and seems to be getting worse. I can't search or load anything, it's slow! Sometimes, if I search and set my phone down, it'll eventually give me some results.

This needs to be updated/fixed ASAP!!

Hi, I recently subscribed and assumed there was an App. I enjoy so much about Milk Street, and I’m happy to support it all, but honestly I don’t see the benefit of being a member without the added use of a cook-friendly App. Please consider adding this for your membership asap.

    thanks,

New to the party here, and I see others are as frustrated as I am with Milk Street ux. Is there some filtering feature I'm missing? I know searchable websites -- not to mention good apps -- are expensive to engineer, but if you want to grow your audience, you're going to need to do a better job competing with NYT Cooking and others. It's a deal-killer that I can't easily sort for vegetarian, GF, etc recipes! And, no, I'm not going to email customer service. They're going to send me a form letter.

If you’re not going to provide an app, then at least provide a way to organize the recipes I save. America’s Test Kitchen allows categories to be created on their app. Thanks!

Agreed, really need an app to view my saved recipes. The website layout to review saved recipes is pretty poor.

Ditto on the app. I’d love a place to easily access recipes.

Just in case there is power in numbers! Would love an app as well. Love these recipes and would love to more easily use them. Thank you.

Would love an app. It would just make it much easier since mobile is kind of the way things are moving.

I’m with everyone else. Apps are what we use in these times. I TREASURE your recipes but find myself going to the ATK app if I’m looking for a quick recipe before I leave work and am in a rush. I always try to find the ones by America’s Test Kitchen in theeir App and not Cooks Country. Plzzzzzzz give us an App — we’ve been asking for years. I’d even buy a pan if that will help.

It is time for Milk Street to keep up with the times, not to mention the competition, and provide a mobile app to access recipes, identify favorites and use when cooking.

The website is awful. Continue to receive "internal error" when trying to search for recipes. It's irritating that you can't refine your search with the main ingredient you're looking to cook with (chicken, salmon, ham etc) rather shift through numerous recipes and continue to get error message after error message until you get so fed up that you have to give up

Hello Katherine – We apologize for any inconvenience you have searching for recipes. Our website team is currently working on improving the recipe search function. You should see improvement in the near future. Thank you for your patience.

WE NEED AN APP! When are you going to finally listen to your subscribers?

      Hello Monica–

We hear you! We've been working hard on developing a new site and improving our digital services overall. We're a very small team but are moving as quickly as possible, and we're reading your requests. Stay tuned!

I think there are subscribers like me who may end up cancelling our subscriptions unless an app gets made. The website is often very slow to access, and an app would work so much better.
