Welcome to Our New Website

A project two years in the making

By Christopher Kimball

Welcome to our new website!

It’s true that a new website is about as common as the Daily Special at the local diner – seems like new sites are popping up all over – but for Milk Street, this is a project two years in the making and a significant milestone in our growth.

When I launched Milk Street in 2016, I was still mostly a print publisher, and so I had to learn the art of presenting information on-line. But, with the help of a staff less than half my age, including my daughter Whitney who runs our digital media department, we finally developed plans for a new site that I hope will offer a place to visit that is easy to navigate, super-fast, and with layered information (like a good Apple manual) that provides a deeper experience for those who want it.

First, the basics. The new site is 5 times faster than the old one. It is optimized for mobile. It is now easier to save recipes with clearer functionality. And the recipe formats are more accessible and easier to use.

Plus, the search is much improved for more accurate and more relevant results. And we have added a rich library of tips and techniques featuring curated content from our culinary research and travels.

And, of course, the Milk Street website is a lot more than a recipe database. You can stream over 300 podcasts, watch almost 200 TV episodes, take self-paced cooking courses, sign up for live streaming cooking classes, get answers to your questions, go on culinary tours from around the world, and get access to our store with over 800 products that, for the most part, you cannot find somewhere else.

Here at Milk Street, we want to change the way you cook. Not that you are not already a good cook, but we travel the world looking for fresh ideas, fresh voices, new recipes, new ingredients and new cookware and tools. And it’s all right here at 177milkstreet.com.

Cheers!

Kind regards,

Christopher Kimball

P.S. — Our new site may request that you reset your password for added security. It’s fast and simple to do, and thanks in advance.
