Role Summary
Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street is looking for a hard-working, organized, self-motivated and flexible Producer to work on Milk Street’s television series.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with an ability to take on new projects and run with them. Candidate should have impeccable communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate should also have the ability to speak to senior management, external contacts and executives.
This is a full-time position based at our headquarters at 177 Milk Street, Boston, MA. Milk Street is a hybrid office requiring a minimum of two to three days in office weekly, with additional days required during filming.
Key Responsibilities
The Producer will be involved in all aspects of production for Milk Street Television, as well as any new series development, as needed. They will:
- Oversee the creation of episode line-ups, working closely with production, editorial and culinary departments on content development
- Coordinate domestic and international travel (hiring videographers and fixers; booking air travel, hotels and ground transportation; creating shot lists, completing pre-production research and communicating production priorities)
- Prepare schedules, call sheets and other production documents
- Write episode scripts
- Coordinate logistics for studio shoots (booking studio time; hiring external crew; renting equipment; overseeing parking, wardrobe, lodging, catering, etc.)
- Lead production on set to make sure shoots are successful, organized and on schedule
- Track expenses, invoices and contracts
- Collaborate on marketing initiatives, station relations and cross-departmental projects (social media, paid video, brand partnerships, etc.)
During post-production, the Producer will:
- Oversee the post-production schedule to ensure episodes are delivered on time, communicating with editors, post-production vendors and broadcast partners
- Source and compile materials the editors need for each episode: b-roll, stock footage, photography, graphics, credits, voiceover, etc.
- Review rough cuts, color/audio passes and final cuts to provide editorial and technical notes
- Log footage from field shoots and gathers translations
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree
- 2-4 years of experience in media production
- Experience with food media, public media and/or the culinary arts is a plus

- Ability to meet many deadlines and keep up with fast-paced production schedules
- Ability to think independently and contribute ideas
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to interact with all personality types and levels of management
- Strong computer skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere is a plus
